Microsoft has at last turned its full attention to security in an effort to strengthen its leading position in the operating system marketplace. Recognizing the need for qualified Microsoft security professionals, they have created a new exam for the MCSA and MCSE certifications. Exam 70-214, Implementing and Administering Security in a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network, is an elective exam that measures a candidate's ability to implement and administer security and network infrastructures that use Windows 2000 and Active Directory. The exam can be applied to both the MCSA and MCSE programs.

Microsoft has turned its full attention to security in an effort to strengthen its leading position in the operating system marketplace. Recognizing the need for qualified Microsoft security professionals, they have created a new specialization--MCSE: Security--to ensure adequate levels of support for its enterprise networking solutions. Exam 70-299 is a core requirement for this specialization, but can also be applied as an elective for either the standard MCSA or MCSE designations.
